The distant cries of
delight filled the air as the Yankee Cannonball
rollercoaster roared past us 7th graders celebrating the end
of the school year at New England's own amusement park at
Canobie Lake. I was busy weighing the choice of getting an
old fashioned photograph or a giant tissue paper flower with
my fellow girlfriends. Before long, a group of boys from our
class approached, daring us to join them on the Turkish
Twist. Fully involved in the conversation, I didn't notice a
shy, silent boy with oversized glasses playing particular
attention to me. That's where Deric says we fell in love...
