The last time we were together for my birthday was when we kissed for the first time. So he decided to take me back to the scene of the crime in Newport, Rhode Island. We got to the beach early in the morning. He went to talk to the lifeguards right away...I assumed that he was finding out about the waves and tides...little did I know he was telling them of his plan to propose. He started out his day by building one of his monstrous sand castles. These were a common summer activity for him. I decided to help him out. After three hours of digging and building we were finished.

We then realized that we left the camera we brought in the car. I went to go get it and when I came back he was sitting next to the castle. I assumed he was protecting it from little kids ruining it but he was protecting what was inside the castle. I saw a flower peaking out from the castle and I went to investigate assuming it was just my birthday gift. But what I pulled out, attached to the end of the flower, was a whole lot more than a birthday gift. He then took it from me and got down on one knee. I was in such shock I didn't noticed the life guard ten feet away taking pictures with the camera Chris smuggled to him that morning. Moments after I said yes and the first round of applause died down... an announcement was made over the loud speaker and the second applause let out. It was the best birthday I could have ever asked for.
