Hollywood’s Hottest Hair Trends for Weddings

Feeling like a celebrity on your wedding day isn’t difficult to do with your gorgeous bridal gown, make up artist, and limousine.  All that is needed to complete the celebrity look is finding that perfect wedding hairstyle. Awards season is well underway: what the stars are wearing and how they’re wearing their hair creates a buzz and makes for the hottest trends. Hollywood’s finest have celebrity stylists to guide their looks, but brides-to-be can benefit from their style forecasts, too.

February 2011 issue's of American Salon interviewed some celebrity stylists and asked them to predict the hottest hair trends. Let’ take a look at what they think will be popular that may work for your wedding.

Mad Men inspired updos – No longer relegated to retro style weddings, classic updos were popular at recent awards shows and on the 2011 runways. Glamorous updos have more volume and are pulled up into bouffant style. Perfect for formal weddings, these styles never go out of style.

Wavy, sexy styles – Sexy, soft waves that frame the face, reminiscent of the 30’s and 40’s, look elegant and are perfect for weddings. Wavy hair can also be pulled into an updo, letting loose waves fall around your face.

Messy French twist or ponytail – For updos that are a little more casual, try a messy French twist or ponytail. The messy ponytail is a ponytail in which the hair is volumized or texturized to add body and waviness. The messy French twist is a little puffy on top with some loose hair falling around the face or down the back.

Wedding Braids – Braids are a perennial favorite and can be worn in a number of different ways.  Hair with a French or fishtail braid hanging loosely down the back, a tight braid used as an accent at the hair line for a hair down style, a low side braid, and even an updo of braided buns can be a great choice for a wedding do.
