Planning from Afar

We've heard from many brides and grooms who previously lived in MA but are now residing in another state but want to come back to MA to get married.  These couples want to know how to find the perfect MA wedding professionals while living in another state.  First of all, planning a wedding from afar is not an easy task so we've listed a few tips to try and make it a bit easier for you:
Visit our local vendor page where you will find listings of reputable wedding vendors throughout Massachusetts.  You'll find vendors for all aspects of planning your wedding.  From accessories to vocalists.  If you can't seem to find what you are looking for, email us at info@MaWeddingGuide.com.  We'll do our best to help you find the perfect wedding vendor.  You may also want to try a copy of your local yellow pages or a copy of a local bridal magazine.
A bridal consultant can be of great help to you.  You may think that hiring a wedding consultant is expensive.  But you will be surprised at just how little it costs and how much time they will save you.
You don't have to have a wedding consultant plan your whole wedding.  They can plan just the tasks you think will be difficult to plan from another state (such as a reception site).  If you need a consultant to plan your whole wedding, expect to pay 10 to 15 percent of your total budget.  For example, if your wedding budget is $20,000, expect to pay anywhere from $2,000 to $3,000.
If you are looking for information regarding what a wedding consultant can do for you or what questions you should ask a wedding consultant, visit our wedding consultant page.
You can also ask a friend or relative who lives in the area for their help.  You'll have to trust their instincts!  This is a lot to ask of a person so you must let them know what they are getting involved with.
Be prepared to make at least one visit back to MA to meet with your vendors.  You'll want to visit the reception site, florists, DJ, etc.  So be sure you schedule the necessary appointments and let them know that you are coming from out of state and would appreciate it if they could meet with you at a certain time.
To save on long-distance calls, get email addresses and fax numbers from potential vendors.
Be sure to get everything in writing!!
