When it comes to wedding favors, don't think traditional Jordan almonds or potpourri bags - think fun and exciting! We recently learned from Rich Lincoln of Fun Flips and Excel Video about the latest craze that keeps guests entertained and having fun at wedding receptions: mobile flip books. Some may equate this to photobooth favors, but it is quite different.
So how does a fun flip favor work? Think back a moment - remember those cartoon characters you'd draw on the bottom of your notebook pages [instead of taking notes in class]? Then you'd quickly flip the edges and the character dances on the page? Remember? Well the flip book is very similar:
A 10'x10' area display is set up at your reception/event. A foyer or open room near the reception room is best. You want your guests to see others participating - if it's in a hidden room at the back of the facility, it may not be taken advantage of fully.
Guests are invited to step behind the camera and make a seven second video clip. One video may include up to 5 or 6 guests, standing in front of the 10’ x 10’ screen. Props are often provided; or your guests can simply dance, blow kisses, etc.
The video is then printed, put through a cutter and bound into a small book right before their eyes – which they get to keep and take home as their wedding favor. Before the event, you may specifiy the text/images for the front cover.
When your guests flip through the book, they will smile in astonishment when they see their video converted into a mini album! Your guests will forever have a customized keepsake that will brighten their day for years to come. You will be able to choose your customization for the front cover with your names, wedding date, design, etc before the wedding day.
