| Engagement Photographs: Places, Props & Photos |
An engagement photography session is a great way to show your distinct love for one another and to also prepare the two of you for being in front of the camera on your wedding day. During your engagement session, you'll have the opportunity to get to know your wedding photographer even better and vice versa. During this photo shoot your photographer learns all the little things that make you a great couple. The way in which you interact with each and feed off each others energy will make for great engagement photos and practice for the big day.
The traditional in-studio engagement photograph is no longer the standard. Photographers will go "on location" to a spot that means dearly to the two of you. When trying to determine your setting for your engagement session, consider the location as well as fun props. Do you want a day outdoors riding bikes, or maybe you have a favorite pub and love to play pool? However you decide, make sure it is something you both enjoy!
Below are just a few ideas to help make your engagement photographs express yourself: |

| Beach: a popular choice. Grab a brightly colored kite or just yourself and flip flops! If you have a beach with a lighthouse nearby, this is a great addition to photos. |
Park/Playground: photos pop with autumn colors. Go to your local park - play in leaves; swing on swingsets; teeter on see-saws; pack a picnic including basket with wine and blanket. |
Indoors: who says it has to be outdoors? If you love to read, play cards or other indoor activities, go for it! Add props that represent the two of you and the activities you share together. |
Train Station: a great spot if you met or start your journey together everyday on the train! Commuter rails are in many towns - hop on inside the station, train or on the tracks. |

| City Backdrop: if you live in Boston or outskirts, you know about the terrific views! The Zakim or Harvard Bridge (aka Mass Ave bridge) has an amazing view of the city as a backdrop. |
Swan Boats/Boston Garden: take a ride on the swan boats or picnic on the Gardens. The lush green grass or fun swan boats enhance the photos. |
Subway: a unique location - with lots going on! So many props, from seats and poles to doors and platforms. Dancewith faint sounds of musicians playing in background. |
Right outside your door: your backyard may be the best spot! If you love to walk dog together, run, ride bikes, or any outdoor activity in your neighborhood, then this is the perfect spot for you. |
