Colorful Wedding Decor - Parasols, Lanterns, Flowers

Spring and summer weddings come to life with brightly colored decor. Hanging paper lanterns, glowing luminaries, paper parasols, and fresh flowers are a perfect choice for infusing color into your ceremony and reception. These easy to implement ideas will grab your guests’ attention and show off your style while creating a magical and unique look like no other.

Paper Globe Lanterns: I am such a fan of these fun lanterns. Not only do they add to the décor, but they also shed light for an outdoor, tented wedding reception. Having your reception at an indoor facility? Consider hanging from the deck or outside entryway to welcome guests as they arrive. They are available in so many colors – you are bound to find your color scheme or color(s) that will compliment well.

Lanterns and Luminaries: Shed light on your ceremony aisle or reception walkway with lanterns and luminaries. These accents come on a post that sticks easily into the ground or on a stand that sits on a flat surface. The flickering light creates a romantic, intimate feel. Imagine the ceremony aisle glowing as you begin your decent down the aisle and then encircling you as you whisper “I Do.” Create a romantic table centerpiece when paired with flowers or other props; or use as wedding favors/table placecards to create a glow around each plate setting. Battery operated tea lights are a safe way to light these and most reception sites will allow these lighted accents. Great for any themed wedding – beach, nautical, vintage.

Paper Parasols: perfect for providing shade from the hot summer sun for you and your guests, as well as a stylish prop for pictures and décor. Instead of flowers, have your bridesmaids and flowergirls walk the ceremony aisle holding a parasol to match your color scheme. Great for an outdoor ceremony!

Fresh Flowers: Terracotta pots or mason jars filled with local blooms, vases filled with an array of colored Gerber daisies, green ivy and vines surrounding you at the altar are just a few ways to bring the outdoors inside. Consider exchanging vows in a flower-filled garden for a nature-inspired ceremony.
