Fall New England Weddings

Fall in New England is a great time to have a wedding. There is so much inspiration to create a cozy, fall wedding. From cakes decorated with golden tones to reception sites offering a cozy cocktail area complete with fireplace and autumn colored trees outside their window, it truly is a great time to be a New Englander.

Incorporate a bit of Fall into your wedding with some of these trendy wedding ideas:

New England Fall wedding Flowers

Flowers: reds, oranges, yellow all reflect the beautiful colors of autumn leaves. Have your florist create a bouquet, centerpieces, altar or table arrangements using flowers that are in season, including: colorful calla lilies, gerber daisies, roses, ranunculus. Perhaps a few scattered autumn colored leaves as an accent. Find more inspiration in our Fall Wedding Flower gallery.

Apples for weddings

Apples: this [inexpensive] item makes for terrific favors or décor. For a favor, consider one of Hilliard’s Candies candy apples that can even be custom made into a bride's gown or groom's tuxedo! DIY version could be as easy as purchaing apples, adding caramel and chocolate swirls, then tie together with a thank you tag. For décor, use apples – green or red – as a centerpiece in conjunction with vases and flowers.

Pumpkins, Hay Stacks, Colorful Leaves: nothing says Fall in New England quite like pumpkins, hay stacks and colorful leaves. Several pumpkins ranging in small to medium sizes make for great table décor; while large pumpkins and hay stacks make for a perfect entryway arrangement. Colorful leaves are also a great accent for either indoor or outdoor arrangements – but be careful as they dry out quickly! Consider faux leaves as accents instead. Creative? Consider making a jack o’lantern with your hearts or your initials.

Golden Colors: a simple way to bring the autumn colors indoors is with color. Golden tones are a great Fall choice. Accent your cake with gold icing; incorporate golden table linens with fresh fall flowers; tie the bridesmaids’ bouquets with gold satin ribbons; select wedding accessories, such as guest books and flower baskets, with gold detailing. The smallest touch can create the perfect, romantic feel to your wedding reception.
