What Your Color Palette Says About Your Wedding

Pinks and Pastels ~ Romantic

From bright pinks, to the softest pastels, if you are attracted to these colors for your wedding, we have a feeling you might be a romantic Bride! A Bride who wants to convey romance at her wedding will often choose gorgeous roses for her bouquet, highlight her cake with touches of pink, soft creams and pastels, as well as choose table linens and soft lighting to match. A “romantic wedding” is known for having guests reflect on their own love stories!

Greens, Browns, Creams, Pops of Flower Colors ~ Rustic

This palette tells us that this wedding is going to be a collaboration of homemade items handpicked by the Bride with lots of outdoor touches. This wedding is often called “A Rustic Wedding” and it’s the perfect blend of a free spirited Bride and Groom that are also deeply rooted in tradition and familial love (Grandma’s homemade pie, Uncle’s special “spiked lemonade,” flower bouquets from Mom’s garden, might all be part of the wedding!)  This palette says this wedding is going to reflect the couple’s love of the outdoors as well as their thoughtfulness of wanting a wedding that feels special, but not overly fussy.

Shades of Blue, Kelly Green, Tan and Pink ~ Preppy

Have you guessed yet? Yes, this palette lets you know you’re about to enter a “Preppy Wedding.” (Others might trade the pink for red and tell you it’s a Nautical Themed wedding!)  This palette tells us about a wedding that is all about whimsical flourishes – Chevron print on the cake, the Groom’s seer sucker suit and print bow tie, the Bride with an updated headpiece that gives a nod to the preppy headband she once wore. These colors tell us the wedding is going to feel classic and a little more upscale – and what a lucky Bride, because by choosing these colors, she will surely have wedding photos that feel timeless.

Black & White, Jewel Tones ~ Modern

When you walk into a Modern Wedding, you know it. The lines are sleek, the tablescapes sparse and the colors: black & white with a pop of color or black and jewel tones. This wedding wants you to leave talking about it! These colors convey a sophisticated event (often held in the evening) by an even more sophisticated Bride who finds inspiration from Bridal magazines to Vogue. Wear your most gorgeous cocktail dress to this wedding because a modern wedding is an “event” and not just a wedding!

Now, one thing we know about wedding palettes is it’s easy to push one color aside and bring another one in! There are no rules, so have some fun when you’re thinking about what you want your wedding color palette to say!
